14 March 2012 – 2pm – 4pm at 3 Lloyds Avenue, City of London, EC3N 3DS
BIC Innovation undertook research with the MBA team at Bradford University Business School to research and explore the different approaches taken by major corporations in Open Innovation.
There were two key strands to the research (a) Desk and Literature Research and (b) In-depth semi-structured interviews with major corporations involved in Open Innovation programmes and IP exploitation, including several UK and international clients of BIC Innovation.
The Open Innovation research will inform this fast developing area and emerging models and business eco-systems, exploring to what extent they are appropriate to corporations and delivering effective returns on investment – whether they are primarily technology/IP “hunters”, passive “ideas portals” or active technology/IP “promoters” or indeed “collaborators” with other businesses, academia and other research organisations.
The masterclass will be led by Dafydd Davies, Chief Executive of BIC Innovation and Dr John Collins, Emerging Technologies Associate at BIC Innovation and formerly Lead Technologist for the Technology Strategy Board’s Emerging Technologies and Industries Programme.
